ARC Funded Research Associate
in
Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
Three Year Fixed Term Appointment
Applications are called for from suitably qualified persons to participate
in an Australian Research Council (ARC) funded position in data mining and
knowledge discovery in collaboration with the Health Insurance Commission.
This three-year project will be to carry out generic research in applying,
researching and developing a number of data mining and knowledge discovery
techniques to study the behavioural patterns of Diagnostic Imaging
practitioners. It is expected that the successful candidate will have
completed a PhD or be about to submit a thesis for a PhD in one or more
of the following areas: artificial neural networks; expert systems;
data analysis; artificial intelligence; fuzzy systems; statistics;
graphical models. Preference will be given to candidates who have some
relevant post doctoral experience. It is expected that the successful
candidate will work closely with the Health Insurance Commission, in
particular, with medically qualified experts in Diagnostic Imaging.
The successful candidate will be based in Wollongong working with a
dynamic team in neural networks and artificial intelligence in the
Faculty of Informatics, under the direction of the Dean, Professor
A. C. Tsoi.
Dependent upon the qualifications and the experience of the successful
applicant, appointment will be as an Associate Fellow in the salary
range A$42,413 to A$45,527. Further information can be obtained by
