Dear Machine Learning Community,
We are pleased to invite contributions to the Special Session on Hybrid
Intelligence (HybAI 2026), held during the ICINCO conference from October
26–28, 2026, in Angers, France.
Scope and Relevance
Large, end-to-end black-box models often require massive datasets that are
unavailable in industrial, medical, or scientific settings. Furthermore,
these models can be brittle in out-of-distribution scenarios and lack the
explainability necessary for high-stakes deployment.
This session explores Physics-Informed ML and Hybrid Intelligence
approaches that embed structure, physical laws, and domain constraints
directly into neural network architectures and loss functions. We welcome
research demonstrating how hybrid models can reduce data requirements,
improve generalization, and ensure physically consistent behavior.
Topics of Interest
- Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs): Novel architectures and
training paradigms integrating differential equations and physical
constraints.
- Explainability and Robustness: Methods for interpretability, uncertainty
quantification, and stability analysis.
- Scientific Machine Learning: Hybrid AI for simulation, inverse problems,
and accelerating discovery in data-scarce domains (physics, chemistry,
climate).
- Neuro-Symbolic and Gray-Box Modeling: Combining symbolic domain knowledge
or first-principles logic with deep learning.
Important Dates
- Paper Submission: July 31, 2026
- Author Notification: September 9, 2026
- Camera Ready: September 18, 2026
Submission and Publication
Please submit your work through the special session web page:
https://icinco.scitevents.org/HybAI.aspx
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings (with ISBN
and DOI) and submitted for indexation by SCOPUS, DBLP, EI, and Web of
Science.
Sincerely,
Dr. Vittorio Lippi (Calejo Hybrid Intelligence AB, Germany)
Dr. Ndivhuwo Makondo (IBM Research, South Africa)
Dr. Leonard Johard (Calejo Hybrid Intelligence AB, Sweden)
