Connectionists: PhD Opportunity in Evolutionary Algorithms – Expression of Interest (Maynooth University, Ireland)

I hope this message finds you well.
I would like to invite expressions of interest from prospective PhD candidates interested in pursuing research under my supervision in the area of Evolutionary Algorithms, with potential applications in artificial intelligence, optimisation, and automated machine learning.
The position is based at Maynooth University, Ireland, a vibrant and growing research environment located just outside Dublin. The university offers excellent connectivity, with direct access to Dublin city centre, as well as convenient links to Dublin Airport and major transport networks.
This call is aligned with the Hume Doctoral Prizes 2026, which provide EU-level tuition fee support for the duration of the PhD (up to 4 years full-time). The application deadline is 16th April 2026, with successful candidates expected to commence in September 2026.
Candidates with a strong background in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
