**** Apologies for cross-posting ****

Dear all,

With great pleasure the Statistics and Data Science group of SIS invites to participate at the Meeting Statistics for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence of the SDS group - University of Pavia, Pavia April 27-28 2023.
All information about the conference is available [HERE](https://sites.google.com/universitadipavia.it/sdsconference-pavia/home?authuser=0)

CALL FOR PAPERS:

Academics, researchers, PhD students, and practitioners interested in statistics and data science research and the related methodological and applied fields are invited to submit papers for the first meeting of the Statistic and Data Science group conference.

The interplay between statistics and data science is gaining more and more interest not only for statisticians but also for physicists and computer scientists. We call for papers treating themes related to the modelling and analysis of complex data (structured, non-structured, mixed) and proposing new or ad hoc approaches pertaining the following aims:

Ensemble methods for classification
Data Visualization
Prediction & Classification
Explainable AI
Data stream analysis
Mining complex data
Textual data analysis
Computational Statistics
Learning with imbalanced data
Unsupervised models
Dimensional reduction
Variational Inference
Geometrical data analysis
Deep Learning
Preference Learning
Data Ethics & Fairness in Machine Learning
Practice & Applications
Education & Data Literacy

The deadline to submit your contribution is 10th January 2023.

Paper Submission
Authors who wish to present a contributed paper are invited to submit an abstract and a short paper.

All abstracts should contain no more than 200 words, without references and formulas.

Short papers should be from 4 to 6 pages long. They have to describe: the substantive problem and the analysed data, as well as the proposed techniques and models. They have also to include a clear statement of the main results and conclusions and to indicate the most relevant references.

Papers will be included in the program after their acceptance.

Papers must be submitted to sdsconference.pavia at gmail.com
