 researchers, PhD students, and practitioners interested in statistics 
and data science research and the related methodological and applied 
fields are invited to submit papers for the first meeting of the 
Statistic and Data Science group conference.</p><p>The interplay between
 statistics and data science is gaining more and more interest not only 
for statisticians but also for physicists and computer scientists. We

 papers should be from 4 to 6 pages long. They have to describe: the 
substantive problem and the analysed data, as well as the proposed 
techniques and models. They have also to include a clear statement of 
the main results and conclusions and to indicate the most relevant
