Dear colleagues,

*The* *International Conference on Artificial Life* - ALIFE 2023 - is
looking for proposals for

   - *papers,*
   - *extended abstracts*,
   - *workshops* and
   - *tutorials*.

ALIFE 2023 will take place in *Sapporo*, *Japan*, *July 24 - 28th*,* 2023*,
and will be a* hybrid* conference: primarily focused on-site, at Hokkaido
University, while also allowing for online participation.

The *conference theme* is “*Ghosts in the Machine*”. Traditionally,
Artificial Life research has sought to uncover the mysteries of life and
the mind, that is, to naturalise the “ghosts in the machine”: What is life?
What is the mind? At ALIFE 2023, we would like to bring back the focus on
the integration of philosophy of mind with theoretical, computational and
empirical works in science and engineering that deal with these ghosts.

**Deadlines for submission*:*
Call for Workshops & Tutorials - *31st January*, *2023*
Call for Papers & Extended Abstracts - *3rd March*, *2023*

For more details please check the conference website
<https://2023.alife.org> and follow us on Twitter

Hope to see you in Sapporo!
