We are looking for passionate and outstanding students to pursue a PhD in
computer vision and deep learning at the University of Edinburgh. Our
research focuses on understanding motion in vision: what motion tells us
about the properties, the state and the structure of the world, how to use
it, and how to estimate it. Possible topics may include, but are not
limited to, integrating motion estimation and high level behavioral tasks
such as recognition and action, designing novel core architectures for
temporal modeling, exploring novel tasks that improve temporal learning
etc. The expected period of study is 3.5 years. More information can be
found here: https://laurasevilla.me/vacancies

The successful candidate would be part of the School of Informatics, which
includes access to world class equipment in computing and robotics, and one
of the largest research communities in Europe with more than 100 faculty
and over 400 graduate students.

The desired qualifications include master's degree in computer science or
related subjects, previous experience in deep learning and strong
programming skills (C++/python, pyTorch/TensorFlow). Basic understanding of
current methods is preferred (optical flow, video classification
approaches, recurrent networks, reinforcement learning).

Interested candidates should send their CV and a short research statement
to laura.sevilla.lara at gmail.com.
