The Medical Faculty of Ulm University invites applications for the
position of a
FULL PROFESSOR (W3oL, tenured) of MEDICAL INFORMATICS (Reference-code

Ulm University, School of Medicine is one of Germanys top performing

The School of Medicine, Institute of Medical Systems Biology, offers a
faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor (W3oL, tenured) of
Medical Informatics. This position will support the Universitys mission
and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty,
staff and all our activities. We are seeking candidates with expertise
in areas such as method development, e.g. semantic interoperability,
machine learning, big data and learning systems in the health sector.
Candidates are expected to intensify and complement the existing
research focus and -networks and actively participate in existing centers
(Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm - CCCU, Center for Trauma Research,
Center for Personalized Medicine).
Responsibilities include establishing an independent research program in
methodological, collaborative and interdisciplinary research, actively
participating in the graduate and molecular medical training programs,
and synergizing with the clinical informatics services. The candidate
should participate in teaching courses of the Medical Faculty (esp.
Molecular Medicine) and in the application subject area "Medicine for
computer scientists". The professorship will be an integral part of the
area "Medical Informatics" of the International Graduate School in
Molecular Medicine Ulm (IGradU).
We are seeking candidates who can develop innovative approaches to
current health-care challenges with high clinical impact. A demonstrated
record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications and the ability to
successfully compete for grant funding are essential. Please send your
