Dear all,
I was a PhD student in CSD a few years ago and am currently at Wesleyan University, a research-focused liberal arts institution. We have a tenure-track opening this year, and machine learning is one of our target areas. I am writing to this list specifically because we are looking for candidates who could collaborate with researchers in our Neuroscience and Behavior program. If you are not on the job market this year but have friends/students who are, I would appreciate you passing on this announcement.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in Computer Science to begin in fall 2016. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment, and must have a strong research record and experience in teaching. Wesleyan currently has a strong research group in theory, programming languages, and software engineering and a 2-1 teaching load (three courses per year).
We encourage candidates in all areas of Computer Science to apply but the department is especially interested in databases, machine learning, natural language processing, software engineering and software systems. Prospective candidates should not feel constrained by this list, particularly those who would contribute to the diversity of the faculty.
We will begin reviewing applications on Dec. 1, 2015. Applications should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, teaching statement and at least four letters of recommendation, one of which discusses teaching. As part of your teaching statement we invite you to describe your cultural competencies and experiences engaging a diverse student body.
Applications must be submitted online at academicjobsonline.org.
