POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE IN CONNECTIONIST/NEURAL NETWORK
MODELING:
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the newly
established Silvio O. Conte Center for Neuroscience Research on the
Cognitive and Neural Mechanisms of Conflict and Control, within the
Center for Brain, Mind and Behavior at Princeton University. The
position is available from December 1, 2000 for a renewable, one-year
appointment.
The Conte Center encompasses six projects, five experimental and one
focussed on theory and mathematical and computer modelling. The
individual will work with Jonathan Cohen (Psychology), Philip P. Holmes
(Applied Mathematics) and John Hopfield (Molecular Biology), who
collaborate on mathemical modelling projects to develop, analyses and
test neural network (connectionist) models of decision-making,
perceptual choice, memory recall, and attention, focussing on the
relationship of conflict detection to control. The theoretical work
will be conducted in close collaboration with behavioral and fMRI
imaging experiments.
Ph.D. with experience in nonlinear dynamics and/or neural network
modeling is required; some familiarity with models in neurobiology
and/or experimental methods in psychology is also desirable.
Further information about resources and affiliated faculty at the Center
for Brain, Mind and Behavior is available at:
http://www.csbmb.princeton.edu.
Resumes or inquiries can be directed to Jonathan D. Cohen at
jdc at princeton.edu. We will begin reviewing applications as they are
received, continuing until the position is filled. Salary and rank are
commensurate with experience. PU/EO/AAE
