                        Summary
Reinforcement learning is one of the most active research areas in
artificial intelligence. In this approach to machine learning, an agent
tries to maximize the total amount of reward it receives when interacting
with a complex and uncertain environment. The analysis of this scenario is
radically different from standard approaches to supervised learning, as
many of the common assumptions do not hold.

Recent advances in the theoretical analysis of this problem will be
surveyed in a 3 days course by Michael Kearns, followed by invited talks
by Jonathan Baxter, Chris Watkins, and some talks contributed by the
participants in the workshop. (For more details see web site).
