Research Assistantship and PhD Studentship Positions

We have two vacancies, one for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant, and
the other for a PhD studentship, available within the Visual Information
Processing Group. Both positions are for three years and are funded by
the EPSRC under a project entitled "ViTAL: visual tracking for active
learning." The aim of the project is to develop a novel framework for
active learning and knowledge gathering for decision support systems in
medical imaging. It is a collaborative venture between the Visual
Information Processing (VIP) Group of the Department of Computing,
Imperial College, and the Lung Imaging Research Team at the Royal
Brompton Hospital.

The Visual Information Processing group has been involved in biomedical
imaging research for the last 10 years and has produced more than 200
publications in the areas of Computational Vision, Image Processing,
Perceptual Intelligence, and Biomedical Imaging Systems. The group
currently has a team of 18 members, including four full-time academic
staff.

The appointment for the research assistant will be on the RA 1A scale,
(18,420 - 26,613) inclusive of London Allowance, depending on
qualifications and experience. Applicants should have a good degree in
Computing.
