Neural Network Assembly (APNNA), will be held in Taejon, Korea, from
November 14 to 18, 2000. The theme of the conference, Neural
Information Processing, is broad enough to promote wide interactions
among researchers in many academic disciplines. The conference will
consist of one-day tutorial, three-and-a-half day oral and poster
presentations, and a half-day historic tour.
In addition to mathematical and engineering approaches, we also
include cognitive science in the main stream. The conference topics
include but are not limited to:
- NEURAL NETWORK MODELS
Learning algorithms
Neural network architectures
Neurodynamics & spiking neuron
Statistical neural network models
- COGNITIVE SCIENCE
Data representation
Learning and memory
Neurobiological systems
Perception, emotion, and cognition
Selective attention
Vision and auditory models
- HYBRID NEURAL SYSTEMS

<PAPER SUBMISSION>
Papers should be submitted by 15 May 2000 and registered on the
conference web page. They will be reviewed by senior researchers in
the field and the authors will be informed about the decision of the
review process by 15 July 2000. The accepted papers must be submitted
in a camera-ready format by 15 Aug 2000. All accepted papers will be
presented at the conference either in an oral or in a poster session
and included in the conference proceedings. At least one author for
each accepted paper should make advance registration.
The conference proceedings will be published as a hardcopy and a
CD-ROM. To facilitate a fast review process and publication of the
proceedings, electronic submission of compressed PostScript or PDF
files is required. If absolutely unavoidable, send four copies of the
paper by mail to the Conference Secretariat. The paper must be written
in English. The paper should not exceed six pages when printed on a
A4-format white paper with 2.5cm margins on all four sides, in a
single-spaced two-column single-page format, in Times or similar font
of 10 points. Centered at the top of the first page should be the
complete title, author(s), mailing and e-mailing addresses, followed
by an abstract and the text. Detail paper format may be found at
http://braintech.kaist.ac.kr/ICONIP2000/authors.html.
<TUTORIALS>
Proposals are solicited for tutorials. The proposals for tutorials
should outline the subject area with a brief biography of the
organizer, and should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat by May
1, 2000.
<SPECIAL SESSIONS>
Proposals for special sessions are solicited. Each proposal for a
special session should include the following information: title of the
special session, special session organizer and affiliation, subject
areas to be covered by the special session, and potential authors. The
proposals should be submitted by May 1, 2000 via e-mail to the special
sessions committee chair at btzhang at scai.snu.ac.kr. More details on
proposals for special sessions can be found at
http://braintech.kaist.ac.kr/ICONIP2000/information.html.
