                                    =================

Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences,
   Cambridge, England

The 1998 IEEE Workshop on Neural Networks for Signal Processing is the
seventh in the series of workshops.

Cambridge is a historic town, housing one of the leading Universities
and several research institutions. In the Summer it is a beautiful place
and a large number of visitors come here. It is easily reached by train
and road from the Airports in London. The combination of these
make it an ideal setting to host this workshop.

The Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences is based in
Cambridge, adjoining the University and the Colleges. It was founded
in 1992, and is devoted to the study of all branches of Mathematics.
The Institute runs programmes that last for upto six months on various
topics in mathematical sciences. Past programmes of relevance to
this proposal include Computer Vision, Financial Mathematics and
the current programme on Neural Networks and Machine Learning
(July - December, 1997). One of the programmes at the Institute in
July-December 1998 is Nonlinear and Nonstationary Signal Processing.
Hence hosting this conference at the Institute will benefit the
participants in many ways.

4. Accommodations

Accommodation will be at Robinson College, Cambridge. Robinson is
one of the new Colleges in Cambridge, and uses its facilities to
host conferences during the summer months. It can accommodate
about 300 guests in comfortable rooms. The College is within
walking distance to the Cambridge city center and the Newton Institute.

dynamical systems, nonlinear signal processing, and wavelets

			Application areas
speech processing, image processing, OCR, robotics, adaptive
filtering, communications, sensors, system identification,
issues related to RWC, and other general signal processing
and pattern recognition
