         Special session on Neural Networks and Transport
                      Call for papers

The 1st call for the Nimes-98 Conference on Complex Systems, Intelligent
Systems & Interfaces, to be held in Nimes, 25-27 May, 1998, has just been
issued. A special session will concentrate on the neural networks
techniques used to solve specific traffic problems in air, road, maritime
and railways transport.

For this special session, papers based upon the following topics areas are
welcome :

* Real time Control Systems : freeway and corridor control, incident
detection and management, signalized junctions and networks, traffic
control systems, 

* Vehicular Navigation and Control : vehicle location monitoring, vehicle
control, driver behaviour modelling, 

* Planning and modelling techniques : traffic flow, simulation models,
dynamic traffic models, forecasting, 

* Sensor data processing : data fusion, vehicle
identification/classification, traffic pattern analysis

* Benefits of advanced technologies : safety impacts, environmental impacts.
 

There is a two-stage reviewing procedure with the following schedule :

6 February 1998 	Submission of abstracts (250 words) including title,
author(s), affiliation(s). The contact author must be identified with his
complete affiliation, address, phone, fax and e-mail adress. Seven copies
of the abstract have to be send by post-mail to the Secretariat.

23 February 1998 	Notification of acceptance/rejection

23 March 1998	Submission of the full paper
