InterSymp' 97
9th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
on
SYSTEMS RESEARCH
INFORMATICS AND CYBERNETICS
to be held
August 18-23, 1997
at the Markgraf-Ludwig-Gymnasium
in Baden-Baden, Germany

The International Institute for
Advanced Studies
in System Research and Cybernetics
and
Society for Applied Systems Research
The Conference will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of
short reports on current systems research in humanities, sciences and
engineering. A number of specialized symposia is being organized to focus on
reseqrch in computer science, synergetics, cognitive science,
psychocybernetics, sociocybernetics, logic, philosophy, management, ecology,
health care, education and other related areas.
The aim of the Conference is to encourage and facilitate the
interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary communication and cooperation
amongst scientists, engineers and professionals working in different fields,
and to identify and develop those areas of research that will most benefit
from such a cooperation.
Participants who wish to present a paper are requested to submit two copies
of an Abstract up to 200 words) as soon as possible but not later than May
20, 1997. All submitted papers will be refereed. Those selected will be
scheduled for presentation and published in Conference Proceedings.
Notification of acceptance will be sent to authors by July 5, 1997. The full
papers not exceeding 5 single-spaced typed pages with photoready copies of
artwork should be submitted by July 25, 1997.

TRAVEL INFORMATION: Baden-Baden is a beautiful spa-resort town and
convention center located in the middle of the Black Forest in the western
part of Germany. It can be reached in two hours by train from Frankfurt or
Stuttgart. The best way to travel to the conference site is to fly first to
Frankfurt(or Sttutgart) and then to take na express train to Baden-Baden.
Those travelling by car can reach Baden-Baden through Hwy (Autobahn) A5
(Frankfurt-Basel) or through Hwy A8 (Stuttgart-Karlsruhe). The conference
will be held at the Markgraf-Ludwig-Gymnasium, located at Hardstr. 2 in the
center of Baden-Baden. This conference site can be easily reached from
Baden-Baden railway station by city bus travelling to Augustaplatz, or by taxi.
ACCOMODATION: All conference participants are responsible for making their
own travel arrangements and hotel reservations. Convenient and reasonable
accomodation is available in various Baden-Baden hotels, some of which are
indicated on the overleaf. Prices for accomodations range between $40.00 and
$90.00 (U.S. $) per day, depending on hotel category and the type of
occupancy (single, double,etc.). Participants or their travel agencies
should make a reservation in a hotel of their choice in writing, indicating
preferred price range, type of occupancy and the length of intended stay.
This reservation should be made as soon as possible. August is a very
popular vacation month in Europe and preferred flights and hotel
accomodation may not be easily available unless booked well in advance.
