The Department of Psychology of Rutgers University-Newark
Campus anticipates making TWO tenure-track appointments in
Cognitive Science or Cognitive Psychology at the Assistant
Professor level. The Psychology Department is interested in
expanding its program in the are of Cognitive Science.
There are two focus clusters for the searches. In the first
cluster candidates should have an active research program in
one or more of the following areas: memory, learning
attention, action, high-level vision. Particular interest
will exist in candidates that combine one or more of the
research interests above with mathematical or computational
approaches with special emphasis in connectionist modeling
(as in for example related to programs in Cognitive
Neuroscience). Candidates in the second cluster should have
an active research program in one or more of the following
areas: human-computer interaction, cognitive engineering,
cognitive modeling, IT systems, learning systems, CSCW,
distance learning or multimedia systems. The positions call
for candidates with an active research program and who are
effective teachers at both the graduate and undergraduate
levels. Review of applications will begin on February 1,
