COGNITIVE NEUROPSYCHOLOGY: Visual word and object recognition. A
post-doctoral research position is available at the COGNITIVE
NEUROPSYCHOLOGY LABORATORY, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, HARVARD UNIVERSITY.
The project investigates the role of visual and attentional mechanisms in
word and object recognition. These issues are addressed principally
through the analysis of the reading and object recognition performance in
brain-damaged subjects with visual neglect and other perceptual disorders.
In addition, computational modeling and functional imaging studies of
visual word recognition are planned. Individuals with training in visual
perception and/or attention, computational modeling, or cognitive
neuropsychology are encouraged to apply. Candidates should send a
curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, and a statement of
research interests to Alfonso Caramazza, Cognitive Neuropsychology
Laboratory, Harvard University, William James Hall, 33 Kirkland St.,
Cambridge, MA 02138. E-mail inquiries may be sent to
caram at broca.harvard.edu. Screening will begin immediately and continue
until the position is filled. Harvard University is an Equal
Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Women and minorities are
encouraged to apply.
COGNITIVE NEUROPSYCHOLOGY: Lexical production. A post-doctoral research
position is available at the COGNITIVE NEUROPSYCHOLOGY LABORATORY,
DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, HARVARD UNIVERSITY. The project investigates the
content and organization of the lexical system and, more specifically, the
nature of lexical access mechanisms. These issues are investigated through
the analysis of speech and writing disorders in brain-damaged subjects and
the computational modeling of lexical access. We are also planning to carry
out several functional imaging studies of word production. Individuals
with training in psycholinguistics, computational modeling, or cognitive
neuropsychology are encouraged to apply. Candidates should send a
curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, and a statement of
research interests to Alfonso Caramazza, Cognitive Neuropsychology
Laboratory, Harvard University, William James Hall, 33 Kirkland St.,
Cambridge, MA 02138. E-mail inquiries may be sent to
caram at broca.harvard.edu. Screening will begin immediately and continue
until the position is filled. Harvard University is an Equal
Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Women and minorities are
encouraged to apply.
