Research Position Available
Development of Hardwired Neural Network Testbed

The Communications Research Center (CRC) Institute, part of Industry
Canada, is offering a second term (two years) research position at the
research engineer level within the Communications Systems Branch of the
CRC.  The principal goal of this position is the application of
commercially available neural network circuitry to the task of real time,
pattern classification of communications signals and synthetic aperture
radar images.  This position is a part of a CRC project sponsored by the
Canadian Department of National Defense.

The candidate should have, at minimum, a graduate degree in the engineering
or physical sciences.  Preference will be given to candidates holding a
Ph.D. degree in engineering in an area relevant to the project.  Knowledge
or experience in systems development, machine-level programming (C/C++),
integrated circuit design and analysis, and neural network theory and
application is desirable.  An ability to work independently and to
communicate effectively is required.  Preference will be given to
candidates who hold Canadian citizenship.

The CRC is located in suburban Ottawa on a large site shared with DND
research facilities (Defense Research Establishment Ottawa) and with the
