CALL FOR PAPERS (please post)
ADAPTIVE BEHAVIOR Journal
Special Double Issue on COMPUTATIONAL NEUROETHOLOGY
Guest editor: Dave Cliff
Submission Deadline: 1 December 1994.
Adaptive Behavior is an international journal published by MIT Press;
Editor-in-Chief: Jean-Arcady Meyer, Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris.
The aim of this special issue (to be published in 1995) is to bring together
papers describing research in the field of computational neuroethology.
Computational neuroethology (CNE) applies computational modelling techniques
to the study of neural mechanisms underlying the generation of adaptive
behaviors in embodied, situated, autonomous agents. The focus on studying
agents embedded within their environments is a distinguishing feature of CNE
research. CNE studies can help in the design of artificial autonomous agents,
and can complement standard computational neuroscience approaches to
understanding the neural control of behavior in animals. Submitted papers
should emphasise the relevance of the content matter to both real and
artificial systems.
Submitted papers should be delivered by 1 December 1994. Manuscripts should be
typed or laser-printed in English (with American spelling preferred),
doublespaced, and between 10000 and 15000 words in length counting 500 words
per full-page figure.
Authors intending to submit should contact Dave Cliff well before the
deadline, at the address below. Copies of the complete Adaptive Behavior
Instructions to Contributors are available on request.
Send five (5) copies of submitted papers (hardcopy only) to:
