		   EXECUTABLE MODELS OF GENETIC ALGORITHMS

			    Tuesday March 23, 1993
Room 110, Stratton Hall, on the CSM campus
				   5:30 pm

				  Abstract
A set of executable equations are defined which provide an
exact model of a simple genetic algorithm. The equations
assume an infinitely large population and require the
enumeration of all points in the search space. The predictive
behavior of the executable equations is examined in the
context of deceptive functions. In addition, these equations
can be used to study the computational behavior of parallel
	genetic algorithms.
