TIme-unfolding

Dear connectionists,

I've been doing a little work with Time-Unfolding Networks
(first mentioned, I think, in PDP. Paul Werbos has an article out on the
technique in the proceedings of the IEEE 1990). I've been getting
pretty terrible results.
My intuition is that I've misunderstood the model. Does anyone
out there use this model ? If so, would you be prepared to exchange
benchmark results (or even better, software) and compare notes ?
