                               ANNOUNCEMENT

    MACHINE  LEARNING  will  be  publishing  a special issue devoted to
    connectionist models under the title:

    "Structured Connectionist Learning Systems:  Methods and Real World
    Applications"

    MACHINE  LEARNING  publishes  articles  on  all  aspects of Machine
    Learning,  and  on  occasion  runs  special  issues  on  particular
    subtopics  of  special  interest.    This issue of the journal will
    emphasize conectionist learning systems  that  aim  at  real  world
    applications.  Papers are solicited on this topic.

    Five copies of the manuscript should be sent by August 3, 1990 to:
