Hello and welcome back!

We're in for a quick start of another busy year
at the Auton Lab. If things go as they do now, we will
be entering an unprecedented number of new projects
in 2006. They seem to be coming in bunches, and it should
be directly attributed to our hard work and a remarkable
success rate maintained throughout the past 12+ years of
the Lab history. Let us keep up the momentum and have lots
of fun while doing so. May all Autonians have a prosperous
and happy 2006!

Tomorrow, we will see John Ostlund taking the floor
to talk about his experiences with the data about
cargo shipments and how it could be used to improve
screening of imports against bad stuff nobody wants
on the US soil. Feel free to skip this one if you
are not interested in very important real world
problems which call for ingenious, scalable machine
learning solutions :-)

Time: Tuesday, January 17th 2006, 12 noon -- 1:15pm .
Place: NSH 1507

BTW: We're hoping to make it our regular time/place spot for the
lab meetings in 2006, so please speak up if you have conflicts
which could not be remedied (we do have - a very tight - room for
change).

Artur
