I am looking for two bright and energetic individuals who are interested in
conducting postdoctoral research on developing computational cognitive
processes models capable of learning from instruction. The research involves
deriving knowledge representations from text-based instructions, integrating
the new knowledge with existing knowledge, developing base knowledge and
procedures to translate knowledge from instruction into action, and
developing computational and analytical approaches to bring
task-knowledgeable model to a desired level of task proficiency.

Selectees will have opportunities to lead significant portions of the
research and will work closely with myself & Dr. Christopher Stevens of the
Cognitive Science, Models, & Agents Branch at the Air Force Research
Laboratory (AFRL). Further, the positions would involve close collaboration
with Dr. Dario Salvucci (Drexel), Dr. Pascal Hitzler (Kansas State
University), and Dr. Benji Maruyama (Materials & Manufacturing Directorate,
AFRL). Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens, have (or will soon
receive) a doctoral degree in cognitive science, psychology, AI/computer
science, or a related field. Strong applicants will have expertise in
computational modeling and programming.

Awardees will be receive a pre-tax annual salary of $70,000 (plus a travel
stipend) and will be required to relocate to wild and wonderful Dayton, OH.
Further inquiries regarding the positions should be sent to Dr. Myers
(christopher.myers.29 at us.af.mil <mailto:christopher.myers.29 at us.af.mil> ) &
Dr. Stevens (christopher.stevens.28 at us.af.mil
<mailto:christopher.stevens.28 at us.af.mil> ). To apply for a position, please
provide your official graduate school transcripts, a curriculum vitae, and a
letter of recommendation.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Chris Myers
