I'd also recommend Drupal. We've been using it for both our lab site
<http://arts.uwaterloo.ca/~cnrglab/> and our modelling software site
<http://nengo.ca/>, plus starting up a model repository:
<http://models.nengo.ca/>. Fairly quick to set up (as long as your
webserver can run php and you have a sql database somewhere, which is
pretty standard), nicely customizable (usually through modules, and
the few times I've had to poke around in the internals it's been
surprisingly well-written php code), and a good online community.
