Postdoctoral Research Position in Machine Learning
Department of Computer Science
University of California, Irvina

A full-time postdoctoral scholar position is available in Padhraic
Smyth's research group at UC Irvine. The successful candidate
will carry out basic research on statistical learning algorithms for latent
(hidden) variable models with potential applications in a number of
areas such as text analysis, geoscience, biology, and medicine.
There will also be opportunities for interaction with Phd students and
other machine learning faculty at UC Irvine, such as Max Welling,
Pierre Baldi, and Eric Mjolsness.

Applicants should have a Phd in computer science, electrical engineering,
mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline.

The UC Irvine campus is located 3 miles from the Pacific Ocean
in the warm sunny climate of Southern California - the local area
offers a wide variety of cultural and outdoor opportunities.
