FACULTY POSITION IN COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY. The Psychology Department at the
University of Western Ontario invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the Assistant Professor level to enhance the Department's
strengths in Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Cognitive
Neuroscience. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an
active research program in his or her research area, teach undergraduate and
graduate courses, and provide graduate student supervision. The primary
selection criteria will be research excellence and productivity; researchers
from any domain of study in Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, and
Cognitive Neuroscience will be considered. 

Applicants should submit by November 15, 2002, a curriculum vitae,
statement of research and teaching experience and interests, copies of
representative publications, and arrange to have 3 letters of

The Department of Psychology at UWO is strong in these areas. Faculty in the
Cognition Area include Marc Joanisse (cognitive neuroscience of language
processing in normal and impaired adults and children, neural network
modeling), Albert Katz (autobiographical memory, figurative language),
Stephen Lupker (word recognition, semantic memory), and Ken McRae (cognitive
and neural bases of word meaning, sentence processing, neural network
modeling). Faculty in other areas of the Department include Stephan Köhler
(cognitive and neural bases of implicit and explicit memory), Debra Jared
(word recognition, bilingualism), Mel Goodale (perception and action, object
recognition), Keith Humphrey (perception and action, object recognition),
Jody Culham (perception and action), David Sherry, William Roberts, and
Scott MacDougall-Shackelton (animal learning and cognition). Research
facilities at UWO include fMRI, ERP, eyetracking and TMS laboratories, high
performance computing facilities for computational modeling, a large
database for developmental studies, and a large participant pool of normal
undergraduate adults.
