INVITATION
	The Workshop is the third such gathering of scientists and engineers
dedicated to CNN research. The first two CNNA meetings showed CNN is a powerful
paradigm with important possibilities of application, and fostered wide
interest in the scientific and industrial community.
	CNN theory is now reaching maturity; therefore, this Workshop will be
structured in a new way, and will feature the following main topics of
interest:
1) CNN Universal Chip prototypes are expected to be demonstrated in operation;

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) Real-life applications of CNN chips will also be demostrated, in diverse
fields, such as medical diagnosis, and robotics;
3) Distinguished speakers will give keynotes on latest findings. Prof. L.O.
Chua will give the inaugural lecture on the topic: "The CNN Universal Chip:
Dawn of a New Computer Paradigm". Lectures have been invited by Profs. J.
Hamori and F. Werblin on related topics of neurobiology, and Prof. A. Csurgay
on "Toward the Use of Quantum Devices in a Cellular Structure".
4) A round-table discussion, chaired by Dr. C. Lau, will be organized, on the
topic: "Trends and Applications of the CNN Paradigm"
5) Authors are encouraged to submit a more detailed version of their papers to
the upcoming special issue on CNNs of the International Journal of Circuit
Theory and Applications, edited by Profs. T. Roska and J. Vandewalle (deadline:
January 1995).

TOPICS OF INTEREST include, but are not limited to:
- Basic Theory: stability, sensitivity, properties and theoretical limitations,
comparison with different neural network paradigms, steady-state, oscillatory,
chaotic dynamics.
- Architectures: cloning templates or non-homogeneous weights, continuous or
discrete time, layered systems, nonlinear and/or delayed interactions.
- Learning and Design: algorithms, generalization, information storage, CAD
tools, design by examples, synthesis.
- Hardware Implementation: analog and digital ICs, optical realizations,
discrete-component dedicated circuits, dedicated simulation circuitry
- Applications: signal processing, system modelling, CAM, classifiers.
