Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce an open call for papers for the JCSS 2026
International Session, an English-language organized session at the 43rd
Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cognitive Science Society (JCSS 2026).

Session date: August 31, 2026
Venue: Otemon Gakuin University, Soji-ji Campus, Osaka, Japan
Language: English
Format: In-person

This session aims to establish a lasting gateway for international exchange
within JCSS. Building on the success of the 2025 CogSci Asia-Pacific Meetup
— which brought together researchers from 13 countries — we are creating an
accessible venue where international and Japanese cognitive scientists can
present, discuss, and build collaborations in English.

We welcome submissions on broad cognitive science topics, including but not
limited to psychology, neuroscience, computational modeling, AI, HCI, and
education.

We especially encourage submissions from:
- International researchers and students based in Japan
- Japanese researchers and students who wish to present in English
- Overseas cognitive scientists interested in engaging with the Japanese
cognitive science community

Presentation format will be primarily oral (~4–6 talks), with a poster
session added if submissions warrant it. Presenters must register for JCSS
2026.

Important dates:
- Submission deadline: April 17, 2026
- Submission format: 4-page paper or 600-word abstract
- Notification: TBA
- Camera-ready deadline: July 2026
- Session date: August 31, 2026

Please feel free to circulate this call to anyone who may be interested.

Best regards,
