Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the Special Session entitled: AI for a Sustainable Future: Transforming Engineering, Mobility, and Smart Cities that will be held in conjunction with the International Conference on Optimization and Learning (OLA 2026) in Chania (Greece), from 28th to 30th April, 2026. The venue aims at bringing together interdisciplinary research from artificial intelligence and sustainability. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

•    AI in sustainable transportation
•    Intelligent traffic management and emissions reduction
•    AI in sustainable urban planning and smart cities
•    Sustainable AI: reducing AI’s carbon footprint
•    Sustainable AI strategies: reducing carbon footprint
•    Green AI: Energy efficient algorithms and architectures
•    AI-driven sustainable engineering applications

IMPORTANT DATES

Submission deadline: 19th December 2025
Notification of acceptance: 23rd January 2026
Full paper submission deadline: 6th March 2026

Accepted full papers will appear in the conference proceeding published by Springer series Communications in Computer and Information Science (tentative).
