Connectionists: [Jobs] PhD positions in Switzerland on generative modelling using spiking networks

Dear Colleagues,

Funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, I have openings for two 
PhD candidates working here at Idiap Research Institute in the general 
area of generative modelling using spiking networks.

The project will follow two related threads: In a first thread, we will 
investigate the mathematical relationship between spiking and the 
diffusion that is common for current generative models. In a second 
thread, we will investigate the interface between the (binary) spikes 
and the continuous signals normally required for the generative 
applications.

The posts are fully funded for four years. Candidates will register at 
EPFL for the academic side of the position, and will be based in 
Martigny in the Swiss alps.
