Dear fellow connectionists,
The LSA Linguistics Institute is the largest summer school in linguistics in the world, and a great opportunity to connect with faculty and students from all over the globe. This year’s iteration will be held on the West Coast of the US, in Eugene, OR.
This year’s focus is on usage-based, cognitive/functional and emergentist approaches to linguistics and psycholinguistics, in keeping with the theoretical orientation of the University of Oregon Linguistics Department, including connectionism / deep learning.
We have over 80 courses spread across two 2.5-week terms, from July 7th through July 22nd and July 24th through August 8th, 2025, including 32 courses in psycholinguistics, and 23 courses in computational modeling, as well as a variety of co-located conferences (e.g., Society for Computation in Linguistics, Abstract and Item-Specific Knowledge across Frameworks and Domains, Usage-based Phonology, Dynamical Models of Speech), and hands-on workshops on statistical methods and software.
Registration is now open:

Best,
Volya
