Dear Colleagues,
The Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) has announced a call for
Vienna Research Groups (VRG) focused on the theme of "Transforming
Science with AI/ML." A VRG is comparable to an ERC Starting Grant and
includes a tenure-track assistant professor position at the University
of Vienna.
To apply for a VRG, you must have a local proponent who supports your
application. If you are interested in establishing your own research
group at the intersection of AI/ML and cognitive neuroscience within the
Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna, I encourage you
to reach out to me.
To acquire a VRG, you will need to successfully navigate the following
three steps:
1. Discuss your research topic and the likelihood of success given your
track record with your proponent (in this case, me).
2. Participate in interviews at the Faculty of Computer Science, akin to
the selection process for an assistant professorship.
3. Submit a grant proposal to the WWTF with the support of your
proponent and the University of Vienna.
You can find the details of the call here:
https://wwtf.at/funding/programmes/vrg/index.php?lang=EN#VRG25
If you are interested in applying, please send me an email at
moritz.grosse-wentrup at univie.ac.at, including a link to your Google
Scholar profile and your CV. Please note that you need a strong track
record in AI/ML, e.g., established through publications at NeurIPS,
ICML, or ICLR, with applications in cognitive neuroscience.
Best regards,
Moritz Grosse-Wentrup
