Dear colleagues,

I am excited to announce the publication of “Bayesian Models of Cognition: Reverse-Engineering the Mind” by MIT Press — a joint effort with Nick Chater, Josh Tenenbaum, and a host of wonderful contributors. More than a decade in the making, the book introduces the basic ideas behind Bayesian models of cognition and summarizes recent research on their applications to topics including hierarchical and nonparametric Bayes, sampling-based models, neural networks, resource-rational analysis, theory of mind, intuitive physics, language, probabilistic programs and cognitive development.

More information, and an Open Access version of the book, can be found on the MIT Press website:

Best wishes,

Tom.
