New paper seems to prove that abstract lexical reference can be triangulated by text alone. The GPT, was able to estimate uncertainty terms (likely, probable..etc) extremely similar to humans. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-56740-9

So the arguement would be "grounding" is being triangulated with GPTs from "reading" enough random text.
