Dear Colleagues,

We would like to kindly notify you that the deadline for submitting short conference papers (up to 4 pages) has been extended to Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. Please, refer to the workshop website<https://xai4sci.github.io/> for more information about the workshop and the workshop proceedings.

Key Information:

  *   🗓️ Workshop Date: February 26, 2024 (in-person in Vancouver, Canada)
  *   📑 Paper Submission Deadline: Extended to December 1 (AOE), 2023
  *   🔗 Submission Link: OpenReview<https://openreview.net/group?id=AAAI.org/2024/Workshop/XAI4Sci> (Double-Blind Review Process)
Topics of Interest: development and application of explainable machine techniques to real-world problems in sciences (including but not limited to, physics, materials science, earth science, cosmology, biology, chemistry, and forensic science).

Submission Information:

  *   📄 Short Conference Paper (up to 4 pages excluding acknowledgments and references)
  *   📢 Author Notification: December 11, 2023
  *   Submissions are not archived. The accepted papers will be published on the workshop website.
  *   Authors of accepted papers will have an opportunity to submit a full research paper for consideration in a special issue in Machine Learning: Science and Technology focusing on explainable machine learning in sciences.
