We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join
our research team in Applied Mathematics and Decision Sciences. The
successful candidate will be responsible for developing mathematical
models and algorithms for decision-making under uncertainty, network
analysis, and data science, and applying them to the behavioral and/or
medical sciences.
Specific areas of research interests include but are not limited to
decision analysis and dynamic programming, dynamical systems, data
assimilation and optimal control, and network science.
The position is full-time and does not involve any teaching duties.
The work site will be at the Department of Computational Medicine at
UCLA and the position will be funded in partnership with the
California State University at Northridge (CSUN). Opportunities for
professional educational development and engagement with CSUN's
diverse student body may also arise.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics,
Theoretical Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or
Statistics, and must demonstrate relevant previous research
experience. The ideal candidate will have a background related to one
or more of the research areas described above as well as a keen
interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world
applications. The annual salary starts at around $63,000.
The position is renewable yearly for up to three years contingent upon
satisfactory performance. Applicants should submit a cover letter,
