The School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of
New South Wales (UNSW, Sydney) is seeking outstanding mid-career candidates
with a solid research track record in Computer Science to apply for the
Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowships position.

Benefits:
1. A full-time research-only position for four consecutive years
(2024-2027) with the possibility to convert to tenure-track positions
afterwards subject to funding.
2. The Future Fellowship awards a very competitive salary package, which
provides a salary plus 30% on-cost according to the candidate’s academic
level: Level A/B - AUD 163K (USD 113K), Level C - AUD 198K (USD 137K), or
Level D/E AUD 232K (USD 161K), per annum. These values include 30% on-cost.
UNSW will cover the salary gap between the fellowship award and the
relevant UNSW salary rate.
3. Research project funding up to AUD 60K (USD 41K) per year.

Additional benefits provided by CSE, UNSW:
1. Visiting fellowship for shortlisted candidates, including a two-week
visit, all expenses paid.
2. Potential additional top-up project funding per annum over the
fellowship period.
3. Mentoring and further support through the application process.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria:
1. PhD degree awarded between 1 March 2008 and 1 March 2018.
2. Not be nominated for more than one Future Fellowship in a grant
opportunity.
3. Outstanding track record in Computer Science and Engineering discipline,
evidenced by research outputs, impact, and leadership.

1. A list of your ten best publications.
2. Your education, including the date your PhD was awarded.
3. Statement of your research contributions, demonstrating your research
standing, impact, and leadership.
4. The level that you would like to apply for (A/B, C, or D/E).

Notes:
1. Information on Benefits and Eligibility Criteria is based on the
previous ARC Future Fellowship round for 2022. There might be minor changes

2. You should have a PhD award date together with an allowable period of
career interruption that would be commensurate with an award of PhD date
on, or between, 1 March 2008 and 1 March 2018. The allowable career
interruptions set out, and the period allowed for each is in Table 6 of the
grant guidelines.
3. The salary rate for different academic levels in UNSW: Level B: AUD 112K
- 133K (USD 77K - 92K), Level C: AUD 137K - 157K (USD 94K - 108K), Level D:
AUD 164K - 180K (USD 113K - 124K), Level E: AUD 210K (USD 145K). All levels
have an additional 17% superannuation.
