Assistant Professor in Computational Modeling of Cognition and/or Perception

The Department of Psychology at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin fall, 2022 with a focus on the computational modeling of the mechanisms underlying cognition and/or perception.  Area of expertise within psychology is open; however, we are particularly interested in a faculty member who will enhance competitiveness for extramural funding through collaborations by taking an interdisciplinary approach that bridges psychology and another discipline within cognitive science, such as computer science, philosophy, neuroscience, or biology.  A strong quantitative background is highly desirable.

Applicants should show a commitment to sustain and advance the goals of the institution’s diversity of students, faculty, and staff.  Applicant’s research interests should complement current faculty in Psychology. History of or strong potential for external funding is desirable. Requirements: Ph.D. in psychology or a related field and a strong record of research and teaching. The successful applicant will teach courses in their area of specialization, and a course in Introductory Psychology, Statistics, or Research Methods; supervise doctoral and undergraduate student research; and advise undergraduate and doctoral students.  Our standard teaching load is two courses per semester.
