PHD POSITION IN MSCA ETN AUTOBARGE: SAFETY ASSURANCE OF MACHINE LEARNING MODELS IN REMOTELY OPERATED AND FULLY AUTONOMOUS INLAND VESSELS

The M-Group at KU Leuven Bruges Campus has an open PhD position for an Early Stage Researcher in the framework of the MSCA European Training Network AUTOBarge (https://etn-autobarge.eu).

The objective of this position as MSCA ETN Early Stage Researcher is to investigate how possible safety risks of machine learning models are linked to existing safety assurance principles, and how these issues can be addressed by the development of appropriate model robustness strategies. In this way, the aim is to increase the run-time safety of machine learning models in remotely operated and fully autonomous inland vessels and arrive at a substantiated safety assurance argument for these models.
