PhD in Machine Learning and Human-Robot Interaction

This candidate will be enrolled in a PhD investigating the role of multimodal interaction and theory of mind in human robot cooperation and the acceptability and trust of robot companions. This will involve use of the latest machine learning methods for robot???s cognitive architectures. The PhD research will develop novel cognitive robotics architecture for trust and will carry out human-robot experiments.

The student will work collaboratively as part of the cognitive robotics lab at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Professor Angelo Cangelosi. Close collaboration with the other THRIVE++ project staff and partners will also be required. See thrive-project.org<http://thrive-project.org/>

The project funding will cover UK home fees and a PhD bursary.
