?The Spatial Cognition and Navigational Neuroscience (SCANN) Laboratory at the University of Florida, directed by Dr. Steven Weisberg, is hiring a full-time lab manager / research technician / programmer to help conduct research related to the cognitive neuroscience of spatial navigation. The SCANN lab uses behavioral cognitive psychology methods in desktop and immersive virtual reality, structural MRI, and univariate and multivariate approaches to fMRI data to determine the behavioral and neural underpinnings of human navigation behavior. The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical and organizational support to the lab. The lab manager will also have the opportunity to be a collaborator in research that will be presented at conferences and published in journals. Technical and organizational skills are a significant plus.


The position requires a 1-year commitment and can be renewed dependent on funding availability. Preferred start date is August 15, 2020, but is negotiable. Qualifications: (1) A Bachelor's degree in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field. (2) Experience in a research laboratory. (3) Experience with computer programming (Matlab, Python, R, git, bash).


Preferred qualifications: (1) Experience with virtual environment design (Unity3D, SteamVR, Vive). (2) Experience with fMRI design and analysis (including FSL, Matlab, or Python tools. Experience with real-time neurofeedback a plus). (3) Experience with Photoshop and/or Illustrator. ?
