Dear Colleagues,

The Cognitive Neurorobotics Research Unit at OIST *https://groups.oist.jp/cnru
<https://groups.oist.jp/cnru>* focuses on understanding brain-based
mechanisms for cognition and action by conducting synthetic brain modeling
studies using robotic experimental platforms. We are opening several
research positions (postdoctoral and staff scientist) in the following
areas related to active inference and predictive coding.

• Theories for active inference by embodied agents.

• Lifetime learning based on intrinsic motivation, including autonomous
goal generation.

• Developmental robotics.

• Social cognition with a special focus on primary intersubjectivity.

• Simultaneous multi-domain learning toward development of
domain-independent general cognitive competence.

• Computational psychiatry modeling for ASD and schizophrenia.

Successful candidates must be highly motivated to work on the
aforementioned interdisciplinary research projects and to collaborate with
other members of the group. Candidates should have a degree in computer
science, robotics, statistical physics, or related fields. A strong
background in neural network modeling or machine learning will be
advantageous. Individuals hired will work on an annual contract basis.

Persons interested in these positions should send an email to
tani1216jp at gmail.com with a copy of their curriculum vitae.

Best regards,

Jun
