Connectionists: Opening for a Postdoc Researcher in Natural Language Processing

A fully-funded, two-year postdoc is available in the University of Vermont
(UVM) Neurobotics Lab <http://www.uvm.edu/neurobotics/>, and in close
collaboration with the UVM Medical Center’s Department of Radiology

, Philips HealthSuite Labs

Center for Biomedical Research Excellence in Translational Global
Infectious Diseases Research <https://www.med.uvm.edu/tgircobre/home>, and
the Gund Institute for Environment <https://www.uvm.edu/gund>.  The
position is under the supervision of Prof. Nick Cheney in Computer
Science/Complex Systems & Data Science.

Research will be conducted in the area of natural language processing via
word embeddings, including application areas in health services research,
ecosystems services research, the human-behavioral factors of infectious
disease.

Experience in deep learning (and especially natural language processing) is
desired. But applicants with strong research backgrounds in relevant
fields, strong programming and communication skills, and a desire to learn
more about the interface of deep learning and healthcare will be
considered. A PhD is desired, but alternative research positions may also
be available through this application for highly qualified individuals with
significant experience conducting independent research.  The position is
available immediately, and applications will be considered on a rolling
