Connectionists: Postdoctoral position on computational neuroscience (Kyoto University, Japan)

We are seeking a highly motivated post-doc researcher with a background in
computational neuroscience and an interest in reinforcement learning. We
are conducting a research project, “Brain Mapping by Integrated
Neurotechnologies for Disease Studies (Brain/MINDS; up to 2024/3/31;
http://brainminds.jp/en/)” This project aims to reveal a neural basis of
decision making and the other cognitive functions based on brain activity
data (electrophysiology or Ca2+ imaging) from marmoset/rodent brains. The
candidate will work on this project under a collaboration with experiment
teams of RIKEN Center for Brain Science (RIKEN CBS).

For this position, basic qualifications include PhD in relevant fields with
a proven track record of peer-reviewed publications, as well as excellent
verbal and written communication skills in English and/or Japanese. You
will participate in the project with our members from various backgrounds
including computational neuroscience, systems biology, bioinformatics,
mathematical engineering, and reinforcement learning. Our laboratory is
also collaborating with Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute
International (ATR), University of Tokyo, Okinawa institute of science and
technology (OIST), RIKEN Center for Brain Science (RIKEN CBS), and other
international laboratories.

The contract is annually renewable up to the end of this project based on
the evaluation.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Social insurance will be applied.
Days off include weekends, public holidays, Year-end and New Year holidays,
Foundation Day, and summer vacation.
These and other provisions are in accordance with Kyoto University’s
regulations.
