Joint Call for Papers for the Research and ADS tracks
ECML PKDD 2019
Würzburg, Germany, September 16-20, 2019.
http://ecmlpkdd2019.org/

This is a joint call for papers for both the Research and the Applied Data Science Tracks of the 2019 edition of the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML PKDD 2019). This conference provides an international forum for the latest research in all areas related to machine learning and knowledge discovery in databases, as well as innovative data science applications. The conference will take place September 16 - 20 2019 in Würzburg, Germany.

In the Research Track, we invite submissions of research papers from all areas in machine learning, knowledge discovery and data mining. Following the tradition of ECML PKDD, we are looking for high-quality papers in terms of novelty, technical quality, potential impact, and clarity of presentation. Papers should demonstrate that they provide a significant contribution to the field (e.g, improve the state-of-the-art or provide a new theoretical insight).

In the Applied Data Science Track, we invite papers that present novel applications of machine learning, data mining and knowledge discovery to solve real world use cases, thereby bridging the gap between practice and current theory. Papers should clearly explain the real world challenge that is being addressed (including any peculiarities of the data, like size of the data set, noise levels, sampling rates, etc), the methodology that is being used, conclusions for the use case and possibilities to generalize the solution to similar use cases.

Please see the conference website (http://ecmlpkdd2019.org/submissions/researchAndADSTrack) and the FAQ (http://ecmlpkdd2019.org/faq) for details about the tracks. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the Program Chairs.

Important dates:
Abstract submission deadline: March 29, 2019
Paper submission deadline: April 5, 2019
Author notification: June 7, 2019
Camera ready submission: June 28, 2019

We are looking forward to receiving your paper!
