At the Cognitive Systems Lab, University of Bremen, Germany, we offer a
fully funded reseach assistant position (36 months) for a PhD student on
the topic "Brain-Computer Interfaces for Attention-driven Augmented
Reality Interfaces".
Topic: Augmented reality (AR) glasses enable the embedding of visual
content in a real scene. In the project „Brain-Computer Interfaces for
Attention-driven Augmented Reality Interfaces“, we will implement user
interfaces which adapt to the user, for example by avoiding distractions
or directing the user’s attention towards missed information. For this
purpose, the user’s attention is captured from sensor data (via EEG and
eye tracking) and modeled with machine learning techniques. Building on
existing models and interfaces, the task is to build models for
estimation of a person’s attention from fusion and classification of
multimodal data streams and context information as well as their
evaluation in user studies. An additional task is to develop
prototypical user interfaces for AR glasses and to test their usability.
Furthermore, the position involves a small teaching load in the context
of Human-Computer Interaction and machine learning.
To apply, send your CV, a motivation letter, and relevant certificates
to felix.putze at uni-bremen.de no later than June 22nd. You can also
contact my by e-mail if you have any questions regarding the position.
