Applications are invited for a PhD position (30 hours / week) at the 
Center for Medical Statistics, Informatics, and Intelligent Systems / 
Section for Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support at the Medical 
University of Vienna. The position can be filled starting with March 1, 
2018.


The monthly minimum gross salary for this position currently is € 
2,096.00 (14x per year) and may be increased on the basis of collective 
bargaining provisions by crediting job-specific previous experience. As 
one of the leading university centers in Europe, we offer special 
support for young researchers in scientific research and teaching. The 
employment relationship ends after 4 years.


Employment requirements: Master / diploma degree in Computer Science - 
preferably Medical Informatics, Biomedical Engineering or a comparable 
degree with a computer science specialisation, participation in the PhD 
programme of the Medical University of Vienna. Willingness to 
participate in research and teaching. The employment requirements under 
foreign law for non-EU citizens must be guaranteed.


Desired additional qualifications: Sound knowledge of data analysis 
(data science), such as machine learning, deep learning or pattern 
recognition. Knowledge of image processing and/or time series or signal 
analysis desired. Strong interest in research and teaching in medical 
informatics.
