======================================================
3 POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITIONS:
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ASSISTANTS FOR DATA SCIENTISTS
======================================================

The majority of effort and cost in many data science projects is not in
developing
advanced new statistical or machine learning methods, but rather in
collecting, integrating, cleaning, exploring, and preparing data for
analysis, and interpreting, debugging, and presenting the results. This
cost slows the adoption of data-driven techniques across a wide range of
applications.

Modern methods for artificial intelligence and machine learning have the
promise to dramatically reduce the effort required for these tasks. To
exploit this opportunity, the Alan Turing Institute is launching a major
research project to develop new automatic assistants based on artificial
intelligence and machine learning to support applied data science.

This project, called Artificial Intelligence for Data Analytics (AIDA),
will be led by Turing Faculty Fellows Prof Chris Williams (University of
Edinburgh), Prof Zoubin Ghahramani FRS (University of Cambridge), Prof
Ian Horrocks FRS (University of Oxford), and Dr Charles Sutton
(University of Edinburgh).

We are seeking talented postdoctoral researchers in machine learning and
semantic technologies. As many as three positions are available. These
positions will be located at The Alan Turing Institute, the UK National
Research Institute for Data Science, at the British Library in London.
